Enjoy some summer feng shui tips:
Cleansing – Clearing – Clutter Removal
Yes, maintenance is the first step to rejuvenating your outdoor space.
Clear out anything broken and unused, such as old outdoor furniture, unused grills, toys and décor.
Wash and cleanse everything with water to bathe and refresh it all.
Activate Nature
Fill your spaces with beautiful greens and flowers. Add plants that bring connection and love such as sunflowers and roses. Add herbs for protection and cooking – Basil, Oregano, Rosemary, and Yarrow.
Balance Yin and Yang
Summer is a time of the Fire Element. This yang Energy – bright, hot, sunny, active with colors of red and orange. For Balance activate the Water element with a swimming pool and fountain. Bring in touches of Yin for balance – for cooling, rest, relaxation, and peace – shades of blue are wonderful. Relaxing by the swimming pool on a bright sunny day is an example of perfecting summer balance.
Day and Night
Using feng shui principles, we can enjoy out outdoor spaces during daylight and evening hours. During the day – use your pagodas and umbrellas to provide shade, activate colors of joy and fun, set up a hammock under a shady tree for peace and tranquility, create a garden experience. In the evening, when the dark yin rules the sky, bring in the fire element – yard lighting, candles, and a fire pit for gathering.
Sound and Motion
Windchimes are a wonderful way to activate sound and life force in your outdoor space. Windchimes are also used as a feng shui remedy to remove negative energy. In 2023, a 6 rod, hollow metal rod windchime is recommended for the Northwest direction. Bird houses and bird feeders invite in prosperity, joy and connection. When you are spending time outside, don’t forget to bring along your favorite music.
Intention and Invitation
Encourage connection by creating gathering areas with groupings of chairs and benches in various areas of your yard. Find symbols that you love and create an intentional experience for your personal expression. I love angels, and have many angels placed around the exterior of my home and yard. 2023 is the “Year of the Rabbit” and rabbit images, statues and artwork is lucky, joyful and creative.
